What had happened was...

12/25/2011

Merry Christmas to all of my friends and family!

12/22/2011

Had a great conversation with Mak Koontz today! Very exciting to hear from a relative that was able to help confirm parts of our family tree. Would like to thank him for taking a moment to go over his memories.

Christmas is here again! We'll be heading up to Kathy's house Christmas day after a stop with Heidi's family. Glad so many are home this this year and I'm really looking forward to see everyone.

Behind the scenes I've started to revamp the website and I'm hoping that the newer version will be turned on soon.

The basement is coming along, lots of wiring and insulation, stuff that doesn't make for good picturers - Heidi is really excited about her crafting area!

Well, they work fast! Walls are framed~

Framing started on the basement and Heidi's getting all excited for her new area!

Picture from over the weekend, Snowy Owl!

Work begins on the basement! I know that it will be a long time before it's done, but gotta start somewhere!

Well, had a little bit of a discovery yesterday. I was tracking down one of Madison Koontz's sons - John Walter Koontz. He moved from Illinois to Florida in the early 1920's and passed away shortly thereafter. His son, Madison Shoup Koontz was a veteran of WWII and started a furniture business. He passed away in 1974. His obituary states that he did have a son Michael Koontz (I know – pretty cool) and after a quick Google, I found a Koontz Furniture, that lists a Michael Koontz as the owner and a Mak Koontz as his son. The site had an email address for Mak and I sent him a message as well as leaving a message for Michael. Hopefully I’ll hear back from them soon. Would love to know if they have any information, or perhaps older photos.

Yep! No updates in awhile. Busy with football, photography, the house, taking time to go to California, you get it...busy! The next thing you know the site hasn't been updated and people stop coming to the site. Well, never fear, winter is here which means that I should have time to get back on this stuff and I've already started back into the genealogy. Not much new there but you never know when a break through may happen - let's hope anyway!

Hope to work on the site as I’d like to freshen some areas up – if you’d like to see something different, please let me know.

Well that flew by! Jordan started college, and her first job. Fred started High School and football. Heidi and I had the deck re-done, as well as some landscaping. Went camping and saw the family! Whew - lots and lots this month! Sorry I couldn't keep the site a little more current, but as you can tell we've been on the go! Did get out and take photos - they are up in the gallery.
